Baby Hercules

it's the Hercules DJ Control MP3 controller (what a lame name). got it off a seller on amazon for about 60 quid. traditional Djs might go like "wtf!", "piece of crap". i know. i'd love to go the turntable route and be like my mentors, peanut butter wolf, madlib, j-rocc, and the rest but i've got my reasons: i'm a noob, it's what i can afford at the moment, and vinyl is losing the war to digital technology. this is where is piece of hardware comes in. this controller is meant to be used with mixing software such as VirtualDJ (which comes with it), PCDJ, Traktor, and many others. Most pros use Serato, and FinalScratch. i've had VirtualDJ for quite a while and been getting familiar with it, but i've had to use the mouse and keyboard and it just didn't feel right - thats why i bought this newbie controller. at the moment, i'm focusing on beatmatching/mixing techniques creating mixtapes like these. VirtualDJ allows you to record your sessions to mp3s (pretty sweet). hopefully if i get any good with it, i'll upgrade to a much better controller like the DAC-3, and also upgrade to a better mixing software like what the pros use. anyway, i'm off to play with my new toy.

good to know you're following your dreams...i don't know what the fuck i'm doing. have you controlled any gig yet...i guess that's the real practical first step. big ups.
yeah gigs. true but this equipment is only allowed for low-budget house gigs...i'm only focusing on mixtapes at the moment then equipment upgrades, a step at a time.
as per dreams, i think naija (especially NEPA) is a dream killer.
